The game plan

The past few days have been a blur of no sleep, then LOTS of sleep...

Here is what we know...

This thing in Andrew's neck is what it was a few months back. Back in December, when this nasty ear infection started, I noticed the bump. We were able to get it ultrasounded, and found that it was a congential malformation of the lymph system.
Andrew has had the same ear infection ever since. We are on our 6th round of antibotics.
The ear that is infected is right above this knot on his neck.

So the CT scan revealed that it indeed is ALOT bigger. It has grown from 1.2 mm to 12 mm in diameter.
The radiologist feels that it is definately linked to the infection and once we get the infection under control, it will get better. We have him on some STRONG antibotics and a consult for an ENT in a week. After that, we will watch and wait. And repeat the CT in 6 months.
But he said it WAS NOT a lymph node.
And that makes me breathe easier. As much as I don't want my baby to have surgery, I understand his quality of life will improve greatly.

Update on John IV....we had our endo appointment today and we start more hormones....we should rival a menopausal woman's medicine cabinet with the amount of hormones we have now. He is offically panhypopit - meaning - he has 3 or more missing hormones from his pituitary gland. It was expected...and actually I expect more before this is all over.

Thank you all for your emails, your comments, and your calls. It was no doubt a De Ja Vu moment for me. A life altering moment.
I made all the plea's that night when I went to bed. Vowed to life life, to LISTEN to this wake up call....and we are.
Look for more wonderful things to come from this family.
